How Wander Wise works
A quick tour of a trip from first invite to final settle-up, plus answers to common questions.
1. Start & invite
- Trip Leaders create a trip, pick the base currency and the dates.
- Invite travelers by link or straight to their email.
- Group travelers into families or couples to control who sees which bookings.
2. Plan & explore
- Ask the travel assistant for hotels, activities, trains — by typing or by tapping the microphone.
- Answers come back with clickable links and partner booking buttons.
- Tap 'Add to idea board' to keep an idea for later.
3. Idea board & map
- Saved ideas sit on the Idea board in date order, with anything undated at the bottom and filters by city.
- Open an idea for the details, the official websites and 'Book on' buttons — or add it to a day of the itinerary.
- The trip map pins every place you're staying in order, and tapping a pin shows the dates and the activities planned in that city.
4. Bring in bookings
- Forward any confirmation email to your trip's private address — it lands in bookings automatically.
- Foreign languages are translated, other currencies converted, seats and train cars picked up, PDF tickets attached.
- You can also import from Gmail or add flights, stays, trains, cars and activities by hand.
5. Track & split
- Snap a photo of a paper receipt and the merchant, date and amount fill themselves in.
- Split equally, or give each traveler an exact dollar portion.
- Splitting a booking never double-counts it in the trip total.
6. Checklists & settle up
- Assign packing and prep tasks to a traveler or a group, with due dates and weekly email nudges.
- See who owes whom on the payments card and record payments as they happen.
- Export the whole trip's spending to a spreadsheet when you get home.
7. Daily steps & leaderboard
- Tap 'Scan watch' on the Steps card and snap a photo of your watch face — the step count and date fill themselves in.
- No watch photo handy? Type the number in yourself. One entry per traveler per day, and you can change it any time.
- The leaderboard ranks everyone for today or the whole trip, with a rough walking distance and each traveler's best day.
